YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIGURE IT ALL OUT ON YOUR OWN...

Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed by emotions that seem bigger than you know how to handle. Maybe anger is affecting your relationships, anxiety is keeping you stuck, grief has changed the way you see the world, or you're trying to navigate a transition that you never expected. You may be carrying a lot, and you may not even know exactly what you need. You just know that something needs to change.

That's where therapy can help.

I'm Lauren Jewert, LPC Associate, and I work with children, adolescents, and adults ages 11 and up through virtual therapy in Texas. My goal is to help you move from distraught to understanding, making sense of what you're experiencing so you can feel more grounded, understood, and connected to a sense of purpose. And sometimes, you simply need someone to remind you of something important.

In the words of Michael Jackson, “You are not alone.” You don't have to carry everything by yourself, and you don't have to have the right words before you reach out.

YOU DESERVE TO FEEL UNDERSTOOD-NOT JUDGED

Therapy isn't about telling you who you should be or giving you a list of things you're doing wrong. It's about slowing down enough to understand what's happening beneath the surface.

Together, we can explore the emotions, experiences, relationships, and patterns that may be contributing to what you're experiencing. Whether you're struggling with anger, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, relationship concerns, boundaries, life transitions, academic challenges, ADHD or other neurodevelopmental concerns, or you're simply feeling overwhelmed by life:

You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. You can start exactly where you are.

WHAT THERAPY WITH ME CAN LOOK LIKE

My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and person-centered approaches, adapting our work to you rather than expecting you to fit into one model.

Some sessions may involve learning practical tools to manage intense emotions or anxiety. Other times, we may slow down and simply try to understand what you're experiencing and why. I believe both are important.

I also believe the therapeutic relationship itself matters. For many people, healthy relationships were never something they had a chance to see modeled. Therapy can be an opportunity to experience what communication, boundaries, respect, honesty, and emotional presence can look like in a relationship.

I'm not interested in sitting across from you and pretending I don't have emotions, either. I'm human. I may laugh with you, tear up with you, or make a face when you tell me something surprising.

What matters to me is being present with you and creating a space where you don't have to perform.

MY HOPE FOR you

I want you to leave therapy feeling understood and with a greater sense of purpose. I believe that the experiences you've been through don't have to completely define where you go next. You don't have to become a completely different person. Sometimes, therapy is about finally understanding yourself well enough to become more fully who you already are.

more ABOUT ME

Becoming a therapist was deeply connected to my desire to be the supportive person and compass that I needed during a difficult time in my own life. That experience shaped the kind of therapist I want to be someone who listens, stays present, and doesn't expect you to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

I've also spent much of my professional life working with children, including experience in preschool and summer camp settings. That experience has given me the opportunity to work with people across different ages and stages of development, from childhood through adulthood. I'm naturally nurturing, open-minded, and understanding of differences. I'm also someone who tends to meet people where they are and adapt to what they need. You might find me mellow and calm one day and full of energy when the moment calls for it.

Outside of therapy, I'm a mom and enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, strength training, binge-watching shows, and finding good food. I lived in Colorado for five years while my husband was stationed at the Air Force Academy, and I still have a soft spot for Colorado, hiking, and especially the fall season. And one thing you might not guess from my style? I love alternative music.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology before completing my master’s degree in counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and have approximately two years of clinical experience, including practicum and internship experience. I've worked with children, adolescents, and adults and have experience supporting individuals with a wide range of concerns, including emotional distress, anger, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and academic and neurodevelopmental challenges. I am also a member of Chi Sigma Iota and continue to expand my clinical knowledge through ongoing professional trainings and education.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, struggling with your emotions, or simply know that you don't want to keep handling things the same way, therapy can be a place to start making sense of it.

YOU JUST NEED TO BE WILLING TO START!
